Possible Quarterly Projects. (must complete 4 points throughout the year) Examples of 1 point projects 1. Create a review game or a crossword puzzle for a unit. It must include 15 to 20 concepts. 2. Create an artistic cover for a unit. Must draw a minimum of 10 concepts from the unit. 3. Create a song or poem that contains 15 facts about an Earth Science topic 4. Create a plan to reduce your household waste by 20% or more and implement it.(Ex: make a compost) 5. Interview a scientist. Include a transcript of your interview. 6. 2 Current event articles relating to Earth Science. Print out article. Summarize the article and write a paragraph explaining why each article is interesting to you. 9. Create a story using at least 15 concepts from Earth Science. 10. Create a Geologic Cross Section attach a worksheet that you have created to go along the Geologic Cross Section 11. Create a real soil profile. 12. EXTRA LABS from the lab manual. You can pick any labs that we won't have time for and complete it on your own. 13. Virtual online labs (use button on the top right to go the website.)
Examples of 2pt projects These are projects that take a longer time, but will count for 2 quarters. 1. Create a picture scavenger hunt of different Earth Science concepts. (Make a photo album with a picture of you and an Earth Science concept. Must have at least 10 pictures. Example: physical weathering or chemical weathering) 2. Enter a science competition or essay contest. 3. Make a solar cooker, use it, and show us your results. 4. Make a diagram for an energy efficient home and explain. 5. Create a 3D topographic map of Long Island, New York State, or the United States. 6.
